Bill Lahey

Bill is an avid cyclist who lived in Bhutan in the year 2000 while he served as an advisor to the Royal Government on environmental and judicial reforms. During this time, Bill brought the first modern bicycles into Bhutan and cycled throughout the country with Ugyen. A decade later, Bill teamed-up with Ugyen and his brother, Rinzin, to win the 2011 Tour of the Dragon and was also the first westerner to participate in the epic race. Bill’s favorite ride in Bhutan is through the Phobjikha Valley with its evocative monasteries and high alpine meadows. Bill lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with his wife, Lisa.
