The 4-Day Loop

Paro to the Haa Valley

Our four-day trip is an ideal way to add cycling to your visit to Bhutan. This tour will allow you to enjoy the nicest and least travelled roads in the country. Even better, you will experience an astonishing mix of landscapes and cultural landmarks from your saddle and never need to ride on a bus! The loop includes a 26 km climb over the highest paved pass in Bhutan and a visit to the breathtaking Tiger’s Nest Monastery.

It is easy to integrate our four-day loop into a longer stay that includes a trek or cultural tour with our Bhutanese partner, Yangphel Travel.

Day 1

We welcome you to Paro, fit you on a bike and then take a brief ride through the beautiful valley to the impressive National Museum before a welcome dinner.

Day 2

Start the day high above the Paro Chhu (river) and descend to its confluence with the Thimphu Chhu before pedaling along rolling hills toward the village of Ha, where a delicious dinner of local ingredients awaits.

Day 3

We ride up and over Chele La pass, the highest paved road in Bhutan and an extraordinary ascent through various ecosystems. The reward is a picnic lunch and celebratory tea in the alpine forest before an exhilarating descent back into the Paro Valley.

Day 4

Ride through Paro Valley to the trailhead of the Tiger’s Nest monastery and hike up the route used by Buddhist devotees through blue pine trees and countless prayer flags.
